Minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting held in the Village Hall, Castle Combe
on Wednesday 28th July 2016

3. The Local government Act 1972 section 249.
The Chairman, Cllr F. Winup, said that under this act the Council can confer the title Honorary Freeman on a parishioner for eminent services to a parish.
The Chairman proposed that the title Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Castle Combe is conferred upon Mr Adrian Bishop MBE in recognition of his services to the Parish and District over the past 48years.
This was seconded by Cllr J. Halliday and approved unanimously by the meeting. Cllr Winup showed the proposed conferment document to the meeting the content of which was approved unanimously. Cllr Halliday agreed to arrange a suitable date for conferring this on Mr Bishop.
4. Market Cross
The Chairman asked if there were any amendments to the proposed specification for the repairs to the village cross as this was an essential part of the grant application. The meeting agreed the proposed specification and Cllr Winup said he would now go ahead and submit it to the Heritage Lottery Fund for approval.
The meeting closed at 8.00p.m.
