Minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting held in the Village Hall, Castle Combe

PURPOSE: To adopt the new Code of Conduct.

3. New Code of Conduct
The Council reviewed the documents provided by Wiltshire Council and NALC. After discussion the Chairman proposed that the document issued by Wiltshire Council be adopted by the Council with reference to the NALC document for the detail of pecuniary interests. This was seconded by Cllr Harvey and agreed unanimously by the Council.
The Clerk was asked to contact Wiltshire Council Governance Department to clarify the definition of ‘co-opted member’
The Clerk has since spoken to Anna Browne, Wiltshire Council Governance, who said a co opted member was a Councillor who had been co opted onto the Parish Council and not elected. She confirmed that this did not include non – Councillors acting as members of subsidiary committees.
